On the day after Halloween when I was in sixth grade, I took inventory of my candy loot. I booted up the family computer and opened up ClarisWorks (Remember that gem? It was basically the early Apple version of MS Paint) and drew the bar chart below. I shaded the bars according to which types of candy I was "allowed" to eat while having braces. I made a legend, labeled my axes, and remembered to include a title. Perhaps the most impressive part is that I printed this baby and saved it for two decades.
